Oops, it looks like I forgot to post this week! I have some things I’ve been meaning to post about, but all of them either need work or knititng time to become more “bloggable,” and time is something I’ve been short on this week. I did start a colorwork mitten with this neat yarn:

When I was visiting Connecticut, I spent my holiday gift certificate to Mystic River Yarns on only local things, avoiding anything I can buy here in Chicago or find online. So I have a handful of New England theme Fiber Fridays lined up… all the yarns are either from local dyers or locally raised animals.

This is alpaca from a CT farm, a very small scale operation that I couldn’t find a good link to. So I will just have to treasure these as basically one-of-a-kind! I love the fact that the black and white are natural fiber colors from the animals, not dyed. Perfect for a nice, rustic pair of mittens… and you know I love rustic!

The mittens I’m making with this are for an upcoming pattern, so I won’t be showing them until the project is farther along. But I do have some other cool things planned for the blog, so in the meantime just satisfy yourself with this yummy, soft alpaca! ;-)
