Boo! Toe-Up Socks
In case you hadn’t heard, the Super Sock Scarefest is a fun group of frighteningly devoted sock knitters, working on fun, free, spooky sock patterns at a feverish pace of a pair per 10 days throughout the autumn months leading up to Halloween! I’m proud to announce my design contribution to this ghoulish endeavor: my new free pattern for “Boo!” toe-up socks.

“Boo!” is a whimsical design where little ghosties gradually emerge out of your knitting, and stare back at you from your completed socks! The ghastly motif, an adaptation of a Barbara Walker pattern, is created with a few lace stitches and continually crossing cable stitches, which could be worked with or without a cable needle. The toe-up construction guarantees a custom fit, and the whole is crowned with spooky asymmetrical ribbing that flows naturally from the ghost motif.

I owe many thanks and photo credit to Bev from Having Fun with Yarn. She is a voracious and talented sock knitter, and graciously test knitted the Boo! draft, as well as providing the model pair of socks and the photographs used in the pattern. If her experience is any indication, I know you will enjoy making your own pair of spooky, seasonal socks! The pattern is available here, and its information on Ravelry is here.

Congratulations on such a cool pattern!
BTW, I checked and your package has been delivered to the US border on 16th September. So it should be on the way to you now.
