The other day, I had one of those funny mailbox moments– the kind that every Secret Pal participant lives for. When you find something in your mailbox and are stumped by “But I didn’t order anything.” It always takes a minute before it dawns on you– my secret pal sent me something awesome! (Insert happy dance here.)

My secret pal – whoever she may be – has obviously done some serious research into the colors I typically choose! This batt of merino/glitz spinning fiber is so soft and the dye job is so dramatic (in a good way!- go get your fiber fix at TerraBellaSpun), but what I really love is how “me” the colors are. The batt reminds me of that blog post where I showed you how all my sweaters are the exact same colors!

I’ve started spinning this batt, but only barely. I’ve split it up so that the singles will have alternating sections where the green/white will blend and twist, then the brown/white. I’ll 2-ply it so that the whole yarn will be a marled, marbled blend of bits where it’s green/white, brown/white, or all three colors together. I’m hoping to enter the project into the Ravlery Spindlers August challenge, but I’m not sure I’ll have enough spinning time to get it all done before the end of the month. I’m too addicted to knitting lace these days! It’s eating up all my time…
