cotton coming

Despite the icy weather and the bulky sweater, woolly socks and slipper knitting, I’m starting to get ready for warm-weather projects, too. I’m definitely ready for summer weather, and thanks to a Ravelry swap, my yarn stash is getting ready, too.

I have 6 skeins of King Tut Cotton, which I’m thinking will become the Drop Stitch Lace Tank from Fitted Knits (Ravelry link). My wintry cardigan from that book is just about ready except for drying and buttons, so I’ll be giving that its own blog post this weekend, complete with sweater drama! The King Tut yarn is such a gentle green and so smooth, that I’m sure it will be free from dramatic knitting happenings.

I’m in such a garment-knitting mode these days! I definitely still love socks & other accessories (and I have plenty in progress or planned for the immediate future), but I’m just loving the idea of making well-fitting, long-lasting & versatile garments to wear and show off. To me, it’s worth the extra time investment, since the finished product is just so impressive and useful. There’s so many interesting warm-weather garment patterns out there! If only Mother Nature would start cooperating with my yarn stash decisions..
