weekend progress

Since it was too cold to do anything but knit over the weekend, I was able to get a lot done on my thick-n-thin cardigan. I finished with everything in the bulky yarn, and had to stop because I left the yarn (dark brown, worsted weight) for the cuffs, waistband, collar and button band at work.

I’m really happy with the way this yarn and the colors are working out. I can’t wait to see how the ribbing on the deep cuffs and waistband complements the crazy texture and finishes the piece off. I can already tell it’s going to be super comfy (if a bit less warm because of the wide-open gauge). I know this colorway (Lorna’s #208 Edgewater) is gathering something of a following on the web, but I’m thinking this sweater shows just how much it deserves the popularity.

If you can’t tell, I’m very psyched about this sweater, and I hope to get it finished soon. I’ll be squeezing it in between my desperate attempts to finish the months-old second sock. While I’m hard at work on that, you can be busy getting your entries ready for the contest. Only 8 days left to enter!

I really do love those colors! Is that sweater from fitted knits or somewhere else?

  6. Just love it!!
Tee hee at your KP cords!
The only thing I don’t like about them is that there are no “connectors” like with the Denise. So I would need to still “transfer” my stitches if I need a longer cord when knitting in the round…pfft
