I knew it would be very hard to compete with the widespread and international attention that my last post received, so I decided there was only one thing to do. Amaze and astound my dear readers with that most wondrous, exciting part of knitting… swatching. Hold on to your hats, folks! We’re talking washed and blocked swatches. Can you handle the excitement?
I’ve had a hankering to make the Thick-and-Thin Cardigan Coat [ravelry link] from Fitted Knits, and I’m hoping that one of my favorite Lorna’s yarns, the thick-n-thin Revelation, will be a good substitute. I’ve had some of our new colors dyed to order for the project, but I bought this extra skein (in 36ns Chocolate) for swatching to be extra sure that I’d have enough yarn for the sweater.
I’ve been busy with some super-secret test knitting, so I haven’t had the time to sit down with these swatches and my ruler to figure out if my yarn substitution will actually work. There’s a slight chance I’ll end up making an “Inspired By” Fitted Knits sweater instead. In the meantime, all the swatching is a great way to build excitement for myself to make the sweater I’ve been daydreaming about, and also a good teaser ’till Friday, when I show you the new yarn that’s been dyed just for the occasion..
