fuzzy fandom
Ever since Rob got his geeky new job, complete with cubicle, he’s been asking for desktop toy and office decorations to liven the place up. We got him a Rubiks Cube this weekend, but I couldn’t let him start another Monday without some handmade flair in the workplace. What better to send him off with than a favorite gaming icon?

I designed and knit these Mario-style Super Mushrooms, and the .pdf pattern is available in 2 sizes. This was an extremely fun, quick knit that kept me lighthearted throughout, and Rob was excited to see the quick progress and the pervasive cuteness! We both love them, and it’ll be sad for me to see them go to work with him where I’ll never get to play with them… we can’t help singing Mario theme songs! Since they only require a small amount of Knit Picks Palette (fingering weight wool), I could always make some more.

I love this project for being fun and irreverant, yet relatively screen-accurate and instantly recognizable. I’m thrilled that my man can go to work sporting both his Nintendo fandom and my handcrafting skills. Download the .pdf to make your own mushrooms for the kid or the grown-up sized kid in your life!
