sock along

Doing knit-alongs with my coworkers has been great for my productivity. Each project has even more accountability than with an online KAL, because you have to see the other participants daily, so there’s more motivation to not fade into project hibernation.

Thanks to knitting along, I was able to finish this pair of Hopscotch Socks very quickly, especially if you compare it to the months of second-sock procrastinating I often do! I started the second sock on the same day that I finished the first one, which for me is the key to a timely pair. And this one is a pair I’m happy to have! I’ve been wearing them during the chillier moments of the past few days, and will look forward to getting lots of use out of them in the fall.

Incidentally, those heels and toes are knit out of the first yarn I ever made when I started dyeing at Lorna’s. I saved a handful of yarn out of that batch of 24ns Navy, but this is the first time I’ve had the chance to knit with it. It’s nice that it could make its debut in these flashy, wearable socks.

Thanks for making these and inspiring me to try this pattern! I love the blue accents. At least you didn’t have to start yours over again like I did!

neat! That’s a really special pair of socks. I wish I could knit with my coworkers

  4. Great colors and they look so comfy!  I’ve tried getting craft projects done with my local groups, but we seem to end up doing more show & tell and socializing than actual work :D
