Today I am living the dream of finally wearing socks that match my blue and black sneakers. The shoes aren’t as shiny and new as they were back when I hatched the idea, but I think that well-put-together feeling is worth the waiting.   My formerly-secret pal rose to the challenge of finding yarn to match the sneaks, and she really did a perfect job….

I’m having a great weekend because I finally get to spend time with my aunt Pearl, give her the socks I designed & knit, and tell her the great news about the donations for the pattern going to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I’m extremely happy with the response to the pattern so far, but I’d like to use the advantages of the vast web…

Louisa, my rocking SP11, really surprised me with this fiber find from clear the other side of the world. Not only did she wow me with a great yarn choice, but she also sparked one of those “oooooh wierd coincidence” moments when I opened the box. The yarn is Naturally Yarns Merino & Fur, a discontinued yarn with (look at the label in the picture)…

When Bobbi sent me a thank-you box full of sock yarn and other goodies, it arrived at the same time as lots of family Christmas boxes, so Rob made me wait to open it until our designated gift opening time. That did little to dampen the excitement though! The new yarns were almost enough to make me drop the sock I’m knitting to start another…

Christmas came early this year! Rob’s mom got me a gorgeous wooden swift, which perfectly complements the ball winder he gave me on my birthday. I had such a delightful time winding off the lovely Karen’s Heavenly Creations sock yarn that was hand-picked by Louisa (my SP11) to go with my sneakers. I’ve photographed and blogged this yarn before, but I’m very excited to see…
